This freezer meal prep recipe is a healthy twist on the classic burger. This turkey burger gets extra healthy points for working in an extra dose of zucchini to your meal.

  • 1 llb 93% lean ground turkey
  • ½ cup grated zucchini, moisture squeezed out
  • ¼ cup seasoned whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp red onion
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • ¾ tsp kosher salt
  • ¾ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns

This freezer meal prep recipe is a healthy twist on the classic burger. This turkey burger gets extra healthy points for working in an extra dose of zucchini to your meal.

  1. Label a freezer bag with recipe title and today's date.
  2. In large bowl, combine turkey, zucchini, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Add feta cheese, mix and make 4 equal patties, not too thick so they cook in the center.
  4. Place a piece of wax paper between patties and place 4 patties in bag.
  1. Thaw.
  2. Heat a large nonstick skillet on high heat. When hot, lightly spray with oil. Add burgers to the pan and reduce heat to low.
  3. Cook on one side until browned, then flip. Flip over a few times to prevent burning and to make sure the burgers are cooked all the way through.
  4. Serve on whole wheat buns and with a Greek salad.
  1. Thaw.
  2. Clean grill well before cooking and oil the grates generously to prevent sticking.
  3. Cook the burgers on medium heat about 5 minutes on each side, or until no longer pink in the center.
  4. Serve on whole wheat buns and with a Greek salad.
