Soft, buttery caramels oozing with rich flavor
- Line 8" square pan with foil; grease with 1 tsp. butter.
- In large saucepan combine sugar, corn syrup and remaining butter. Bring to boil over medium heat stirring constantly. Boil slowly for 4 minutes without stirring.
- Remove from heat, stir in milk and vanilla.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Using a candy thermometer cook to 238° F, stirring constantly.
- Pour into prepared pan, do not scrape the saucepan.
- Once cool, using the foil, lift candy from the pan.
- Discard foil and cut candy into squares. Wrap squares in wax paper, twisting ends.
