Poured on ice cream or used as a dessert dip, guests will love when you serve up this delicious homemade sweet meets salty sauce recipe

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat sugar stirring constantly until sugar forms clumps and melts into a thick brown, amber-colored liquid. Be careful not to burn it.
  2. Immediately add butter. The caramel will bubble rapidly when the butter is added.
  3. Stir the butter into the caramel until it is completely melted.
  4. Very slowly drizzle in ½ cup of heavy cream while stirring.
  5. Allow to boil for 1 minute.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp. of salt.
  7. Pour into jar of your choice.
  8. Store for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator, warming slightly for use.
