Enjoy the irresistible harvest flavors of this moist apple-infused bread, complete with a crunchy cinnamon topping and a sweet vanilla glaze. Found in the Gatherings Holiday 2023 magazine.
- Preheat oven to 350°. Line an 8-inch or 10-inch bread pan with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray.
- Cream butter and sugar (see below) in a mixing bowl. Add in eggs, milk, and vanilla and stir to incorporate. Mix in flour, salt, and baking powder. Fold in apples and nuts. Transfer mixture to prepared baking pan.
- Combine butter, flour, both sugars, and cinnamon with a fork or pastry blender until crumbly. Sprinkle over batter in pan.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes, until toothpick inserted in bread comes out clean. Let cool then remove bread from pan.
- Combine melted butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl, then drizzle glaze over the top of the bread.
- Place softened butter and sugar into large mixing bowl.
- Mix, using hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed 1-2 minutes, or until butter mixture is pale yellow, light and fluffy. Use a rubber spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl once or twice while mixing.
