  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅓ cup canned pumpkin puree
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. milk, use more as needed

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray two 6-count doughnut pans with nonstick baking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg and salt.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, mix together the pumpkin, brown sugar, milk, egg, butter, and vanilla until fully combined. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a large zip-close bag with a corner snipped off, and pipe into the doughnut pans.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the donuts comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then remove the donuts from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
  7. To make the glaze, mix together the powdered sugar, cinnamon, maple syrup, and milk until well combined. If the glaze is too think, add a splash of milk to thin it out.
  8. Dip the tops of each cooled doughnut into the glaze and transfer back to the wire rack to the let the glaze harder for about 10-15 minutes.
