Simple Holiday Cheese Board - Fresh Dish Post from Price Chopper

Simple Holiday Cheese Board

December 10th 2016

Create a cheese board for your next gathering. The elegant presentation will leave a lasting impression on your guests and the ease of putting it together will make it a new favorite for you as host. Watch our simple tips and save our cheese pairing tip sheet now. It's a must have resource for your next gathering and find more of our Fresh Dish recipes on Pinterest.

For our holiday cheese board we choose to use Extra Mature Cheddar, Brie & Parmigiano Reggiano. The extra mature Cheddar is rugged, bold and full of character. Brie, a softer cheese is buttery and creamy with a full flavor, fruity and mildly tangy with an earthen mushroom note. Lastly, we chose Parmigiano Reggiano, a hard, dry cheese made from skimmed or partially skimmed cow's milk. It has a rich, sharp flavor and is aged over 2 years. We chose our cheeses based on their texture. They were also somewhat familar by name, and while the flavors may have been new, we wanted our guests to feel comfortable to try them all.

What you need:

Mull of Kintyre Extra Mature Cheddar - (Rugged, bold & full of character)
Reny Pinot Double Creme Brie
Cervasi Parmigiano Reggiano

What to do:

1. Bring cheese to room temperature before serving.
2. Arrange cheeses on board. Each cheese should have its own knife.
3. Add apples, grapes and walnuts (if desired).
4. Add crackers or baguette bread.
5. Use our cheese pairing sheet to pair beer or wine with your cheese selections.
